Active and Busy listening

Description: We had a talk about what is Active, Busy and Me to listening. We had 30 minutes to create it and the video could be 30 seconds long. I was working with Angus M and Luke H when we were making the video.

Big Idea:  I learnt that active listening is when you have your audiences full attention and you taking in everything they say and could be asking questions so your audience knows that you are actually listening. Busy listening is when you are listening but you are not giving the speaker your full atention so it doesn't make them feel like they are important to anyone. Me to listening is when you a having a conversation and you are listening but you keep bringing the conversation back to you so you get all the attention from the other person.

Feedback/Feedforward: I like your video but next time try to get the green screening right and maybe try to voice over to because i cant hear it.
- Gaby

Evaluation: I found that only having 30 minutes to create the video was quite tricky for me and also only aloud to have it 30 seconds long. I found the planning easy because my group and I already had it planned out in our heads.

The Treaty Of Waitangi

Description: In Poutama we are learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. we got offered a bundle of options to choose from. One of them was a movie so I made one with Katie and Bridget. We had to do lots of research to put into our movie.
Here it is...

I showed multi in my Waitangi video.

video

Big Idea: We learnt about how the treaty was made and signed and why they took all the Maori land.

Feedback/Feedforward: I think you did very well but you may need to work on getting the green screening right and you may need to voice over a bit more into the video other than that your video was great -Gaby F

Evaluation: I found the process of the video was kind of easy but communicating with my group and fitting in times to put the video all together was quite tricky.

Maths Problems

Description: For maths we got given a problem to solve 15 cards. It had 7 cards flipped over and it had numbers at the bottom of the cards. We had to work out the what the numbers were under the 7 cards flipped over. There were 2 different solution and Katie and I solved both of them. After solving them we had to make our own one with the remaining cards.
Here is our problem for you to solve...

I am proud of... myself for giving it a go and when I was having struggles I didn't give up I just tried the problem again and in the end I solve the 2 solutions for the problem,

It was challenging when... I was not getting it right and I had tried lots of times trying to solve the problem.  But in the end Katie and I solved the 2 problems and also made our own problem up for everyone to solve.

THE PROBLEM WE WERE GIVEN.

THE PROBLEM WE WERE GIVEN.

THE PROBLEM WE MADE.

My Word For This Year

WALT: Setting a one word goal for 2016.

Description: This year we have to come up with a one word for us to achieve for 2016. This year I chose my word to be kindness so I could make friendships easier and I can build on the friendships that I already have. Being kind I find is a big part in school, so I thought I should work on becoming more kind and friendly!

Evaluation: I think that my word for this year is a good choose for me because I think I can work a bit more on being kind but I think that I am going to complete before the year finishes so I think maybe next I can make two words so when I finish one Ican move on to my next challenge.
